Performance help/advice!

Hey, new to the forumz and i need performance help/advice on my ram!...2nd ram iv owned and wont ever own a diff truck!! I have a 1999 sport with the 5.2l 318...

I plan on riping out a 5.2l out of a 99,98,97 and put it on a stand and beef it up a little!! So if anyone has done anything to the 5.2l performance wise please let me know!!!

Thanks guys!

You can build them but I've never tried. Seems to me the basics will still apply, i.e., cam, headwork, lifters, bigger valves, aluminum intake, etc...

I've seen some articles online with some build specifications for the 5.2L engine and several had full lists of specs for the parts + some tips on the build.

Good luck!

Well, the 360 Magnum engine is a bit easier to extract performance from and is a good foundation for a nice stroker engine. But the 318 is also a good candidate. It's been treated a bit like the red headed stepchild, much like the GM 305.

Lol exactly... I know the 360 is way beter for tourque but Iv read the 318 is a real light weight v8 and if done right will impress most...

That's correct. Eddie's, SouthEast Performance, etc... have some good smallblock Mopar engine basic info on rebuilds.
