Hemi beats f150 eco-boost in 1/4 mile

READ IN CONSUMER MAGAZINE THAT TESTED NEW CARS AND TRUCKS ! 0 TO 30,0 TO 60,1/4 MILE,THAT THE DODGE RAM 5.7 HEMI BEAT THE CHEVY 5.3,NISSAN TITAN,FORD F150 5.0,AND(YES)THE F150 ECO BOOST IN THE 1/4 MILE ! ALSO  READ (NOT SAME MAGAZINE) THAT TWO F150 ECO BOOST WERE TESTED,ONE TOWING AND ONE NOT! THE ONE NOT TOWING GOT GOOD MPG,LOW 20's ! THE ECO BOOST TOWING THE TRAVEL TRAILER ONLY GOT 7.2 MPG ! WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THAT?

hmm, that's pretty interesting. I would expect more that the eco-boost motor would pull away while on a roll and under boost more than from an un-boosted start. As for the 5.0 motors I smoked a new mustang gt the other day getting on the highway, so I can't imagine the 5.0 would do any better in a truck.

What did you race a mustang with? I saw a totally stock 2012 GT run a 13.1 at the track.

I have heard similar stories around here with regard to the terrible mpg when the Ford Eco-Boost is towing a trailer. I guess you can't have it all!

We looked at the ecoboost before we bought our Ram but we opted for the 4.7 "all they had on the lot" but it to is nice and quick!

I'd like to believe this report, but it seems contrary to other ones that seem to say the EcoBoost is a bit quicker.

Sure it was a 5.0? I find it hard to believe your truck beat a 12-13 second car unless you thought he was racing but he wasn't

Maybe Ford is onto something. I wouldn't mind a truck that got considerably crappy towing mileage...I don't tow anything, ever---but I do have the option. Not everyone has the need for a truck...but I definitely had the Want.

I would guess there are a lot of truck buyers that fall into the same category. My RC had the 4.7....and it got about the same mpg as my hemi and the Fords. As for the Eco-Boost...If I could have got a truck that could consistently get 20+ mpg....I would have thought long and hard on a Ford purchase. Luckily for me, the eco-boost was not an option and the seats and drive quality of the full size Ford SUCKED.

I read the article and thought ok some where they have to have some info from real life situations. I am shocked by all the different MPGs listed . 1 more reason I am Glad I got my RAM

Ya i don't think you can beat 2011-12 GT or even regular v6. '09 yes even my v6 Camry could beat '09 GT.
