Why would you transport Acetylene in your own truck? Why?

At least put it on a trailer!?:thk:

Ouch, man he's lucky to be alive even if he's lacking in some serious common sense....

I mean, dont get me wrong, I am glad the guy is alright and all, and that noone else was hurt, but dayum...could have been totally avoided if he had just put it on the damned roof or something.

I'm glad he's alright, too. Just wonder what his insurance company is gonna say lol.

Yep, using logic I the last thing I would think of doing is using something that creates a spark if I smelled a gas. That is assuming I would store an acetylene tank in an enclosed area.

Now that could get him an honorary Darwin award. I'm a licensed gas fitter and have had my fair share of close calls (none by my own doing I might add) never, never, never carry any compressed gas cylinders of any type in an enclosed vehicle, that's just asking for it! I gotta show the guys at work this one.

Sigh, once again people who don't understand the power of compressed gasses. He's lucky to be alive, and he should get himself checked out because concussive internal injuries are a common in situations like this.

I have trouble with his logic... I'll turn on my vehicle, drive it outside, then roll down the window... first, lucky the ignition system didn't ignite it, second, all the internal electronics could have set it off, and the final kicker was the unshielded window switch. He would have been better to open the doors, but knowing him, he would have used the power locks and had the same result. Guess since I deal with explosive atmospheres regularly I'm a little more attentive.

i bet he is burned to S*$T!!!! Hope he is alive though! plain dumb!

brad12kx 12-05-2011 11:26 PM

I saw some of the rest of the pix

Why didn't he have the top on that bottle?
Lucky all he did was loose his hearing in that ear

seems like everyone wants what remains of the good parts, like tires & wheels, drivers door, etc
