Starter Shorting

I have an intermittent start problem. Occasionally, the start solenoid fuse (20A) will blow when I engage the ignition. Replace the fuse without touching anything else, and it will start (sometimes) and then run for days. I recently had my starter checked, and checked for shorts from the starter to the fuse. Any other ideas? Does anyone have a schematic that would help further?

Welcome to the forum!

I assume that your starter lead cable isn't frayed and is connected securely.

So did you check the starter internals???

Here's a link to some wiring diagrams:
