Rear Sliding Window Latch Alternative?

Hey RamNation, my 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 sliding window latch broke off on me today. I never liked the thing because it felt so flimsy and was hard to lock. I found a replacement on ebay,

but wanted to know if anyone has found a different style lock that would work with the window. Thanks for the input!!

I haven't had to look for one so I'm not sure what's out there.

Good luck!

I am sure no one would use this idea, but if you ever need a quick fix, you could use a piece of string like envelopes use, http://image.shutterstock.com/displa...p-12408139.jpg

Most of the Dodge rear window latches interchange with the F150. In '92 Ford went to plastic. Most of the '86-'92 F series had metal latches.

I have 2 pieces of angle iron I lay in the tracks in the summer so I can leave it cracked open about an inch.

Mine broke last winter and I just tied one of my girlfriend's hair ties real tight around it to keep it closed haha. I don't open it in the cold climates anyways. I did find one on eBay months later for $7.00 free shipping.
