2006 wheel vs. 2011 wheel
Simply are these wheels interchangeable? I really like the 2011 polished 17" OEM wheels that come on the 2500 ........... can I or can I not put them on my 06?

Wish I could answer that. I also have a 2006 and just bought a pair of used wheels and tires, but they are 16.5 wheels with almost new multi purpose tires, and they do not fit. So will be offering them for sale. I thought to put them on the rear for better traction with the front road tires being OK for the rare occasion when I need 4 wheel drive, since they have the same diameter. Guess I will just keep my eyes open a little longer.

I'm pretty sure they will. Look at my other posts and you will see pics of my 2006 2500 with 2010 wheels, and pics where those same 2010 wheels are now on my 2011 2500.

Yes, as long as you have the 8-lug pattern (and all 2500's do, I believe) then an 8-lug wheel from a 2010 will fit your truck.

I agree they should fit. The good thing about Dodge is they do not change the bolt patterns on their rims. Chevy changes theirs, that kinda screws people if they want to change the rims to the newer style

Notes from Mike Cash, who installed them on his 1999 2500 4X4 with a V10: These wheels will not easily fit older Rams because the brake drums and steering components will not clear the rim.
Rear: Have a machine shop turn the widest part of the brake drum down by about 1/8.
Front: If clearance is a problem, grind the steering components just enough to clear the wheel rim. The tie rod ends may need to be lightly touched with a peanut grinder. Make sure the front wheels are pushed all the way back to the rotor, or you could cinch up the lugs and bind the wheel in a bind/angle= wobbly wheel. It is a very close tolerance at the center circle in the wheel in front, but the wheels will fit.

This is a cross reference chart as well as a bunch of other info about the Dodge Ram Rims
many other brand vehicles will fit
make sure to check the wheel STUD size & threads, right & left

All of the dodge 2500's have the same 8-lug bolt pattern. I put some Moto-Metals from an 07 on my 98 and then sold them to a guy with a 2010 and they fit just right. All of the axles come from the same source. You can also look into adding the H2 rims, I believe the only difference is the center (hub) of the wheel needs to be turned a slight amount.
