I guarantee you that a code is stored in the PCM if that light is on. Three drive cycles without a fault are required to turn off the light and it takes 40 consecutive drive cycles to erase the code...

I seriously doubt this is the result of a bulb replacement. The first thing to do is to check the modules for codes and then take it from there. I'm betting you have a TIPM issue.
