I picked up the "new" 5.2 a few days ago... it's on the stand waiting for it's turn... I'll probably install a new timing chain and pull the pan to check the bottom end just to be safe.

My buddy wants to run a 5.9 in his dirt race car. The rules mandate a carb and distributor... no EFI. Can a stock distributor be replaced with a "real" distributor to fire the plugs?

Regarding the engine miss.. it turned out to be an oil fouled spark plug. This engine does OK...

Been a while...

I dumped the Fram filter and put on a NAPA Gold and that got rid of the start up rattle...

No more copper in the oil after a couple more changes either....

I cut the fronts on my '97 a full coil and it dropped about 2"... then I cut another 1/2 coil but wound up cutting a full two coils to get it 4" lower.

Two inch dropped spindles and one coil off...

Sounds like bad shocks... their job is to keep the tires planted firmly on the pavement... doesn't seem yours are doing it. Those big tires have more sprung weight... the old shocks may not be up to...
