I want to say th engine compartment but I had to be some where so we just took the other car. It's an auto and the overdrive was off if that helps

Exclamation loud clicking when going uphill

I need help went up a pretty steep hill today and when the tranny down shifted I heard a loud clicking but only at about 2.5K. Any ideas because I can't afford a hefty bill right now.
