If you're concerned about being able to go back, buy a throttle body off eBay... it's common to the 5.2 used in Jeep and Dodge models of that era... you can get one in good condition for ~$40....

If resistors are getting too hot and melting plastic, they have a load too close to their capacity... use a resistor with a higher wattage rating.

Question Throttle body bolt spec?

I take it the 4 bolts that hold the throttle body down are Metric.
What thread and length are they?

Did you replace the stock cat with a new one?... if it's the original cat, it is likely clogged... put in a new hi-flow cat.

1500, and the 2500/3500 have different frames... from memory, the rear springs are longer on the bigger trucks... they are likely wider also.

Typically, OEM's only have to provide parts for 10yrs after a model release... then you have to chase down remaining stock on shelves, and rely on aftermarket parts.

It started with a faint water pump esk squeal... this soon turned to a loud dry/seized bearing squeal, followed by the clutch peddle...

Question Oxygen sensor count?

My '98 5.2L with 140k+ on the clock intermittently has the Engine light 'on'.
A scan said a bad oxygen sensor was the cause.
I'm not surprised, as I replaced a choked Cat about 6 months ago.

I did my wife's 2000 Neon about 12 months ago (turned out good)... my 1998 Ram is just in need of a treatment now... I think the more vertical lenses on the Ram lessen the sun exposure and therefore...
