I did the first change on my 4.7 at 7,100 miles, and had not gotten the message. I think the message interval depends (in part) on your driving style...mine's about 30% city and 70% highway.

I don't know when you did these mods, but don't forget we're now using gas formulated for winter. In my experience, that alone results in a 10% decrease in mpg.

Is the tc noise constant at a given speed/rpm, or is it an irregular pulsating sound? The noise in mine is the later, but it's not really a "frisbee on pavement" sound.
