Here's a couple photos from our local Polar Plunge for The Special Olympics. In order to jump, you have to gather +75$ in donations to jump.
My fire department, Grand Rapids Volunteer FD does the fundraiser every year, typically with 5-10 members participating. This year we gathered over 2000$ in donations between 12 members. It was my second time doing the jump, and I enjoyed every minute of it! We have a collection of old fire gear thats either damaged or to old to continue active fire service, and we use that for out jump gear! sure gets heavy in the water!
The outside air temp was 11, with the water being a balmy 32
im second from the left, standing next to my buddy in his dress uniform
im the one close to the left side, mid cannon ball, catching some huge air
heres us climbing out of our dip, im just barely still in the water
and heres me enjoying the warm air as i walk up the hill, like a boss! had to make sure i smiled for the camera. this is certainly my favorite picture
