No you do not have to be in the Armed Forces yourself but you do have to have a family member that was/is in order to obtain USAA for insurance. Ex. I have USAA because my grandfather was in the Navy. That's it. Full member of USAA now and they insure my home and two vehicles and they gave me a rebate certificate which expires at the end of the month. I can get another one easily as long as USAA and Chrysler still offer the incentive. This incentive has been running since 2011 and I heard it may be soon discontinued. I hope not for another 2 months until my truck is built.
