Default 1999 5.2 1500 P1391 Cranshaft Position Sensor Trouble

Hello, my check engine light recently came on and I found that it was the P1391 error. Googled it and saw it is most likely related to the crankshaft position sensor, so I figured I'd swap it out. First, here's what's happening. When the light is on and the truck has been running around town a while, once I park it for a bit and return, it won't start. I've usually got to reset the battery for it to start, and even that doesn't work sometimes. So I bought a new crankshaft position sensor, and through googling and other research, got an idea where it is and how to replace it. Now that I'm actually trying to do it, I can't find the damn thing. Couple of questions: Should I be looking under the hood or under the truck, and where? Should I be looking at replacing other parts or is that typically the one throwing that code? Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.
