But as usual the police had to ruin it for me.. This beauty pulled up beside me at a stop light and popped the throttle one time.. Not that he needed to. I love all the 1960 to 70 model muscle cars...So his ride caught my eye about a 1/4 mile back, I was drooling over the car already, then once he popped his Flowmasters at me I could not help myself. Before I knew it, my right hand turned off the ESC and turned on tow/haul mode and my adrenaline started to kick in. Now the kicker.. the whole time we were at the light my radar detector was going nuts, so I was looking for Mr.5.0. The light goes green and I jumped him 2 car lengths with an aggressive start but kept it at the speed limit. Very quickly he started to pull up beside me., and there was the cop about 100 yards away, I quickly motioned to the guy and pointed to the police car.. He backed off the throttle and we just rolled side by side for about a 1/2 mile. So I had to settle for a quick cell phone pic. Any one my age and older know what a rare find this car was.. Prob. an easy 100 grand as she appeared to be unmolested exterior wise. I am sure it had a 4 spd manaul with 4.10's or more judging by his shifting/rpms. I would not have cared if I won or not had we actually raced, just glad to see such a rare car in very gc being driven. Anyways, I'll shutup and show you the pic.
I know D.R. on public roads and cell phone pics while driving is pure stupidity. 99.9% of the time I would NEVER do either, but this car really brought back fond childhood memories. At 5 yrs. old I lived under the hood of my dad's 69 Camaro watching him set valve lash every other weekend.
