I agree, but it does accomplish the goal it was intended to, not leave a trace in the ECU.

Like I was saying this is how the diesel trucks started out, so the dealers had to start tracking fuel / rail pressure and torque loads to prove that they were out of factory spec so they could deny warranty claims from the guys blowing their stuff up and try ing to get warranty to pay for it.
