I had another build thread but it was more my initial question then it was a build thread. We started installing yesterday at the offroad shop I used to work at. We are just doing it after hours so it's taken a few more days. Hoping to be done tomorrow. I will continue doing more to the truck in phases, thinking Road Armor or Ironbull bumpers next.
Bought the truck in July from the dealership I am a manager at. Decided instantly I wanted to lift it. I've owned many dodges and other lifted trucks from diesels to other half tons. This however has been my favorite project.
Lift:
6" RCX
Kicker Bar
Bilstein 5100s at 2.1" Tires:
37x13.50x20 Toyo Mt Wheels:
20x10 Fuel Hostages Black Misc Mods:
Bedliner
Tint
Exhaust
So far we have about 4-5 work hours in it, hoping to have it done tomorrow. We have it at a new property we bought in Old Katy Tx. Nice to have a full lift and space to work.
dam that is a fine truck dude. i wish them kind of parts were readily availible here in the UK. just a quick one. how much did the standard truck cost. import garages are getting alot of these but they are a rediculous price £35k-40k just want to see the comparison across the pond. cheers.
All I did was a simple muffler swap. We removed the stock muffler and welded this muffler in place. I kept the resonators in place. I have had all the loud kits and did not want something really loud or obnoxious. Really just wanted a smoother sound that was more performance than a crackling exhaust. I have had straight piped diesels to dual 6"/10"/12" Glasspacks from Cherry Bomb in the past (Loud as Hell). So my entire goal with this kit was to have a nice roar at start-up but to be fairly quiet on the highway.
I completely achieved my goal. This muffler is exactly what I wanted and needed. I had a good hour drive to the exhaust shop so I am very happy with how it turned out and got to experience it on the way home.
Thanks to Discount Auto Performance for the great product, great price, quick shipping, and great customer service. If you are planning on going the same route as me, send Andrew a PM and get your muffler ordered!
If you have any questions let me know.
Video is working. I couldnt figure out how to get it on the forum. So just click the image. Should work
17x10 American Eagle Alloy 016s with 315/70/17 bfgs. And after fast chimed in with his words of wisdom on another thread its lookin like im gonna have to be ordering some pocket flares too lol
Put the truck in the shop this morning to get he bumper lined up. Also decided to have them take the engine cover off to do paint. Engine cover should be done next week sometime. They are fairly busy right now.
Had a guy saying he's gonna buy it.... So I told him if he gave me an offer I couldn't refuse I would. But that was the only way. If for some crazy reason it sells. I'll be getting a 2012 Cummins.
Looking at installing some smoked LEDs similar to aedwardzo and Jake09. I'll be in Florida next week so I will probably wait till I get back to order these.
I am thinking now on making the entire truck MG except for the Iron Bull, Tails, and Wheels (I am debating on painting these MG).
The front headlights would be all MG, the side steps (NFAB, eventually) would be MG, the rear bumper MG, entire grill MG, handles MG, antenna mast MG, etc.
I think that i would personally leave a little more black in there just to simply break it up a little. It's your truck and no matter what you decide it will look good
Ya I have really fallen in love with it.. I have a guy wanting to buy it... I just don't want to sell it... The ONLY reason I would sell it is if I got enough money to allow me to get into a new 2012 Cummins... Just because I regret not getting one originally. :4-dontknow:
