I found this with a quick google search.

1994-1999 1500 2WD/4WD Aluminum Wheels

Lug Pattern - 5 on 5.5", 1/2" bolt
Rim Size - 16x7.0"
Offset - +13.97mm
Backspace - 5"
Max Tire Size -
15x8.0 rims with 3.5" backspace will fit, but they stick out of the wheel wells.

according to that you have the same lug pattern has the 2005 (seems it hasn't changed in a long time). Now those are 16" wheels on the 1998 which don't fit the newer rams because of the size of the rear brakes. So I'm assuming your 2005 rims that you are looking at are 17" at the smallest...so your tires won't be compatible.

That is just what I found with a quick google search...don't strictly rely on my answer. But i'm hopin it helps you some
