Default iDataLink Bypass Module Now With Remote Start

I ordered the iDataLink ADS-AL CA module along with the harness for the Ram Tip Start 2009-2012 ADS-HRN CH4. If you buy the module online, you will need to purchase the USB kit so that you can flash the module with the proper programming.

The install of the harness along with Zip ties should only take about 15 minutes. A couple easy steps:

1. Remove the cover from underneath the steering wheel, two screws.
2. Disconnect the rectangular connector from behind the tip start ignition.
3. Connect the harness.
4. Connect the bypass module.
5 (Optional). Connect the yellow wire to the white wire located behind the headlight switch. You simply disconnect this wire. This will ensure parking lights turn on when remote start is activated. Normal parking light selection will continue to work through the module.
6. Program the module.
7. Zip Tie everything into place.
8. Reinstall cover and Done
9. Use the Factory remote by pushing lock 3 times starts the car.
10. You can modify the module for a different button sequence, and delayed start if you have a diesel.

This is one of the most recommended companies when it comes to modules. I talked to a few private installers and they said that iDataLink makes a great kit. Flahslogic is also by them. Tech support is fantastic.

You can also add the hood pin, I didn't do that because they rust.
You can also add a valet switch or follow the key sequence to enable it without a switch. Valet ensure that remote start doesn't activate by accident when someone is working on the car, or you are having the car valet.

I bought everything online. Cost was only $125 for the module, harness, and the USB connector. Just having the small module is amazing.

My install was a little rough. I had an older setup the dealer installed before I bought the car. It had a flashlogic module with an audiovox remote starter. It kept malfunctioning. Parking lights would get stuck on, even when car was off and key was removed. Auto headlights wouldn't work. I pulled it all out. Had to solder three ignition wires because the dealer installer shredded them up. New system was so simply in comparison to what the dealer did with wire harnesses. With the USB I can flash future modules for other cars.

Love the product. If you are thinking about remote start and want an easy setup with a great warranty think iDataLink.
