Pulled the trigger and bought my S&B filter the other day and installed it tonight. Besides having issues removing the push pin holding the wheel liner and pulling out the temp sensor, installation was not that bad; the air box just fell right into place nicely.
Took my truck out for a test drive and right away I notice how responsive and punchy the throttle was.
But I'm not getting that throaty growl, that most of you are talking about.
Oh well... no big deal, I feel that will change once I put a new exhaust on.
But the big surprise to me was what the mpg gauge was reading. Came home with a 14.2 mpg reading, then after the install it read 15.9 mpg. I'll take that over the throaty growl.
Grubrunner; they also changed the location of there logo on the clear cover. The logo is right on the center of the cover.
