Unless you have intentions of modifying the truck then it won't really be worth doing because you will rarely, if ever, have be running your EGTs near the point of causing turbo failure. A turbo timer is never a bad idea, but again, not a requirement unless you drive it hard and turn the truck off right away all the time. With the size of the factory turbos you're not running them spooled up all the time so they won't be generating extreme temps.
