Default Opinions and help on 2013 speaker/amp upgrade

I'm really disappointed with the stock stereo, non-alpine, on my 2013 1500.

In the old days, I'd have gone right to Crutchfield, ordered a new head unit, and speakers, and called it a day. Now with the 8.4 interface, it's not really an option.

My goals are to add clarity and volume, at a reasonable price, with minimal install work. I don't need a system to crack the welds on my roof, just a well rounded system that rocks pretty solid. Here's what I'm thinking;

Front: Infinity reference 6.5 components http://www.amazon.com/Infinity-Refer...nity+component

Rear: Infinity Reference 6x9s http://www.amazon.com/Infinity-Refer...s=infinity+6x9

Amp: Alpine ktp-445u http://www.amazon.com/KTP-445U-Alpin...lpine+ktp-445u

I'd buy 6x9 to 6.5 plates for the front doors to install the components, and put the highs in the dash where the stock 3.5's go.

Questions:

Do I need a plate or bracket to put the component highs in the dash?

Does the Alipine Amp need a line out converter or something of the sort to get a signal?

I'm not ready to start dismantling my new truck, so the more simply install, the better. Anyone else have opinions/advice? I'm open to other ideas for sound as well.
