Default Timing question

I have a 97 Ram 1500. This last weekend I swapped my 5.2 for a 5.9. The 5.9 was from a '96. It had the computer with it. I used almost all of the sensors from the 5.2 because some of the plugs from the 5.9 didn't match the 5.2's wiring harness. I also had to use the 5.2's fuel rail but with the 5.9 injectors. Since the 5.9 had been sitting awhile I removed the oil pump/distributor drive gear/rod so I could prime the engine without turning it over. I was very careful to mark everything and get it back where it was. The engine is running and sounds great but it lacks the power it should. I checked the timing with a light and it is a little off TDC but of course moving the distributor changes it a little but not enough. So I'm thinking I need to take it to a dealer and get it synced. Does this sound about right and does anyone know approximately how much it costs. Thanks a lot for any suggestions.
