As far as prepping for dipping, clean it really, really good with whatever you usually wash your car with. I took my grill off and used Dawn to clean it. Then I took an aerosol can of electrical contact cleaner and sprayed it down really well. I let it set in the sun for about an hour to warm up and get good and dry and then sprayed.

As for the the emblem, we've got same gen Rams, but different grills, so I don't know.
