I disagree in theory.

gonefishin776 (Kyle?) is, as I will admit a very deserving member of the forum, and one of the leading advocates of certain aspects of the MOTM nominations, post counts, etc. I think that by placing his name on the ineligible list this month demonstrates just how deserving he is and is leading by example. It also demonstrates the appreciation and respect he has for his peers, the work he does, and an ability to relate to the work performed day-in and day-out by other members of the forum.

There is absolutely no doubt that he is a valuable member of the community and will in the very near future be awarded an orange badge. His reps and messages on his home page prove just such.

However, there are rare opportunities to show appreciation for members that seem to be on the ineligible list due to their own request. It goes against reason to suggest that a member remove them-self from the ineligible list when we have just such an occurrence of a valued member being eligible.

It takes a lot of courage to request such a thing after having received as many nominations as he has. Most of all it demonstrates that he is a part of the community, an active one at that, and supports the community.

I would hope to be the first one on the list come July to nominate him for MOTM, and will en-devour to do just that.

remember this image:

because soon enough it will have an orange badge next to it.

(EDIT): As I went back and read the nominations, it would appear that due to his withdrawal there is a single unified nomination. How's that for leading by example?
