Dude, you were right, and I will be the first one to admit it when I am wrong.

After 6 months, every one of my calipers looked like the pic above.

I took wire brushes to them, then primed with rustoleum and repainted with Duplicolor Metallic Red and Metallic Clear.

Here are the results:
