the main difference between the 6 & 8 speed transmissions
is the ratio gap between gears

the 6 speed, if you watch the Tachometer while it is going from stopped to highway speeds, you will notice the RPM dropping more & having to get back up for the transmission to make another shift

where with the 8 speed, the gap or ratio between gears is closer together & there is less RPM drop between shifts

it can be compared to 2 people driving a Standard Shift transmission, one being a beginner & the other having done it for years
