Default Should I trade for this Ram ?

I have a 2012 Ram 2500 Hemi ST Crew Cab. I recently aquired a 28ft Enclosed trailer thats 5000Lb empty and about 10,000 total.

the Hemi seems to have the power (In flat florida) and getting about 6.5-7.5 MPG.

Right now I am about even on the loan. Truck is worth about what I can get for a trade in.

My friend at the dealer call me to say he just got a 2007 SLT Mega Cab in with a 6.7L Cummings. It has 75,000 miles and said I could get it for $22,000

Besides saving me about 8K I figured I would have a much better base on pulling power and MPG....



I guess my question is, how much MPG would I expect to get when towing (I know its hard to say) and what can I do to the diesel to get better MPG out of it.

From the little I know people mention the Sinister EGR block off kit and a tuner. Are these good recommendations and is there something else in addition I should look to do. This truck will be a work/towing mule and not a DD so Im not looking to fancy it up. Any suggestions would be appreciated
