I have had a terrible experience with Plasti-dipp smoked. I don't know what it was seeing half of my truck is plasti-dipped black. Every attempt I tried at it (grill, emblems, bumpers several times) It always came out with a odd blotchy look to it and difficulty removing it. For some reason I feel like it is actually meant for tail lights to offer a smoked look. I have tons of experience with spray cans proper cleaning/ prep/ spray paterns before hand. Smoked I could never get to appear nice. Black.. worked great on killing off my chrome.
