Default V6 reliability?

I am getting a RAM by the end of the year (looking at a loaded SLT V6). I have been reading about the cylinder heads failures on these engines in 2011/12; I'm planning on keeping the truck a long time (6+years). Asking the experts, are these engines reliable in the long run? I know they have been out for 2 years or so, just trying to get a feel of what to expect from them. I can't get a HEMI since this will be my daily driver and I do a lot of driving (~50.000km+ year). The 3.0 diesel is the other option. I will not get a ford and I have seen the new GMs in person, what a disappointment that was. RAM is BY VERY FAR the best truck on the market now.
