hmmmm, It takes more fuel to make the mixture the truck wants to see w/ more air volume. It'd surprise me to see any decent power gain (50+whp)and mpg increase. I know 6 lbs of boost would create that kind of power easily, and is as "low" as most waste gates will allow, and I cant figure how you could shove that much air in and the computer not want more fuel.
I think the key thing here is tuning. Efficiencies (mpg and HP/TQ) are made and lost in tuning. What does STS suggest for fuel/timing compensation?!
