I actually did pull off my TB while installing the catch can to install my fastman TB. There was no oil at all in the TB. The blade just looked a little dirty. Was kinda of surprised and so was my friend considering all the horror story's I've read with people running without catch cans.
Oh yeah and I have 40,000 miles on my truck. I can post a pic if the TB if you want.

And yes I spent $7 to paint my "pretend" catch can. lol
BTW this truck will be long gone before 300K miles. Who keeps a car/truck that long anyways?
