Im not sure what they upgraded on the 2011 tq converters.
But the 2010 and lower tq converters had a lot of plastic parts in them.
Thats why the aftermarket companies have stepped in.

I realize everyone is loosing there overdrive clutches etc,but who is to say the stock converter is not part of the problem.???

It just desnt make sense putting in a built tranny capable of handle 500 RWHP and keeping the stock converter.???.

Thios is the same converter that goes back to 1999 I think.?
Im pretty sure the motors back then were not running 500 RWHP.

Anyway just my take on it.
Not trying to be a smart ass.

I have towed several 18,000 lb.GVW loads with my Circle-D triple disc converter,I dont think the stock converter would even come close to handling the weight.

With 70,000 hard towing miles on my 545rfe,the weak link is not my transmission,but I bet it would be if I still was running my stock converter.
