the adapter doesnt have to change the bolt pattern, i have 2 inch wheel spacers (adapters) on my ram and there perfectly fine, no problems whats so ever. you just have to make sure you get the spacer with the studs on them. they do slightly speed up the were of the joints and what not but so will an offset rim, i would personaly never seriouse rock crawl with em but for daily driving and some simple mudding i dont see why not.
