As mentioned already, there is nothing wrong with running spacers.
As far as added wear it is no different than running a low offset wheel.
Make sure you buy hub centric spacers and if more than 1/4" thick add longer wheel studs or buy spacers with pressed in studs. There is nothing wrong with running a quality spacer made out of high grade material. Dually's come with spacers from the factory.
