Default Be careful purchasing used Trinity tuners

Just a heads up to let everyone know of potential problems with a used Diablosport Trinity Tuner. If you don't have a copy of the original receipt, you have no warranty for the tuner. Also all custom tunes are VIN specific. There are no "Generic" custom tunes from tuning vendors that will transfer to your truck. If someone advertises this as a selling point, the tunes will not work with your VIN.

I purchased a used trinity with advertised "Generic" custom tunes from a board memeber. Got it in and started trying to get it to work right. No touchscreen functions are working. Went to Diablosport with questions and evidently, this is a common problem that needs to be sent in for repair. But, with no warranty, quite expensive.

I'm still going back and forth trying to get this resolved with the seller. Just a major headache having to rely on someone to follow through on a deal after they have their cash. Make sure that all functions of the trinity are working (touchscreen) and don't expect any custom tuning to transfer to your truck before you commit. Ask for a copy of the original receipt if being able to send the unit in for repair work under warranty is important to you.

Hopefully, this will help someone else along the way for things to look out for.
