Default Borla #40944

Hello. Is there anyone that has tried or heard the oval Borla XR-1 Sportsman #40944 on a 4th gen Ram? Opinions?

I have been reading a ton of exhaust threads and going back and forth between the Mufflex 18" and the 14". Read many opnions that the 18" is not much louder then stock except for WOT and the 14" was loud with a very noticable drone. I use my truck as a daily driver and on trips with my family and want an aggresive Hemi growl but at the same time something that won't make my kids complain of the noise on highway trips.

So I came accross this oval Borla #40944 that is a 16" muffler which fits right in between the 2 Mufflex mufflers. Seems like it might be a happy medium and was wondering if anyone else has this muffler or has heard one that can comment on it and also how it would be on the highway.

Also, this is a 3" inlet/oulet muffler, so I would need the Magnaflow #10778 Y-pipe so it can attach to the stock tailpipes. I assume I would need reducers on the end of it since the Y is 2.5" and the stock tailpipes are 2.25"? Also is there any negative change in sound having a Y pipe on the end of the muffler connecting to the taipipes. I know most mufflers are a duel exit, but Borla doesn't make one in this size so that is the reason for the Y-pipe.

Thanks for all the help!
