The CTM Central Timing Module is under the dash, has nothing to do with the engine. Thinking of the powertrain control Unit or main computer. It's in the engine compartment and controls all the engine functions. If you load an aftermarket program like Bully dog or Diablo ect. and blow up the engine or do some damage, you just put your original PCM back in and no one will no you had a program in it. The Dealer or factory could never tell you had an after market programmer. It's an easy swap. see them used online for a couple hundred bucks. Maybe good insurance but never tried it on a Ram. Anyone have any experience with this swap?
