Yeah I've heard one or two horror stories.
There is often an overide switch located on the vehicle's exterior in an inconspicuous spot in the case of power and/or actuator failure so the doors can be accessed.
They do look awesome but, IMHO, they're not for your EDR.
Are you thinking of taking a similar route?
