It's hard to troubleshoot something like this over the screen. Do you have a meter? It's sounding like you have a grounding issue, but without a test light or a meter, there's nothing you can check. I would say find a friend or a friend that knows a friend that has some electrical know how and have them trouble shoot it with you.
