I think the key to any separation in test fitting first so you know exactly how the flares will be positioned. I cleaned my fenders with alcohol to ensure the surface was free of wax, grease, dirt. The double sided tape was actually still in good shape on my set so I carefully looked each one over and applied a thin bead of black molding adhesive. Put them in place, set the screws on the inner well areas and applied painters tape to the outer edge of the flares to ensure good adhesion while the adhesive setup. Waited about four hours, removed the tape and haven't had an issue in seven months. There is a gap on one of them towards the bottom front rear, but no one but me can see it. It also doesn't have any tape in that area, about two inches long, and honestly I worked with it awhile, but realize there's something probably off on the flare itself. I've also seen some gaps on the bottoms of some at the dealership so it's all good.
