No worries just trying to give you helpful info. I doubt chrysler would repair your transmission if the parking prawl broke, as they would know it was from abuse.

Most people don't realize but you are SUPPOSED to use the PARKING BRAKE when you park (hence the name). I haven't looked but I bet in the owner's manual it has a procedure for parking, which includes the parking brake.

You are correct, they designed it with the truck's weight in mind, only the parking brake is what is designed to hold the weight. Yes the transmission will hold it, but it's a lot of stress, and eventually will likely fail.
