The stock exhaust is 3" inlet and dual 2.25" outlet. Most aftermarket mufflers that you'll find are 3" inlet and dual 2.5" outlet which will work.

In regards to your thoughts about upgrading your exhaust; are you looking more for sound or performance? If you're just looking for sound (and don't want it too loud) then the Flowmaster 70 series is a good choice. But if you want a little more performance then take a look at the Magnaflow 22" muffler. It will also be quiet (only slightly louder than stock) but will breathe a little better as it's a straight through design.
