Question Transmission Cooling - 2006 Ram 2500 Diesel

I bought a used (43,000 miles) 2006 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty quad cab long bed to pull a 10,000 pound 5th wheel trailer. I picked up information from various sources indicating that additional transmission cooling would extend the life of the transmission. What are the pros / cons of adding more cooling capacity? Or, will regular transmission maintenance be just as good as more cooling?

If this question has already been answered, please steer me to the thread/posting.

FYI - This is my first pick-up truck and first diesel engine. So far so good. I am following Dodge maintenance intervals and using Cummins Stratopore oil filters and Cummins fuel filter elements.
