I'd like to see one of those R/T's with a 28" radial. Might be something worth looking into since those things come with the 4.10's, would feel a lot better than the stock 22's. any ways, good luck man!

Leave at idle, run 93 gas,so you dont get knock.
Street tires are not going to help your times.
Good Luck and have fun.
He wants a baseline run before the modding begins.
Doing these things no longer give you a baseline run.
He'll get a few baseline runs THEN do mods to see what the differences are.

Personally to the op.
In order to make it consistent, just leave everything normal, don't worry about tow/haul button, don't worry about trying to manually shift with buttons as you won't get the consistency that way as you will with just letting the truck shift itself.
Turn off T/C though.
If the track is prepped well, you'll still get a good launch in 2WD
If the track sucks and you spin too much, and you have a 4x4
put it in 4WD Auto with T/C off, then power brake the launch and
you'll get a good launch.
