If the mfr's all state that unapproved modifications and additives will void your warranty... and if the Owners Manuals all state that additives are unapproved and unnecessary...and if there's already a 5 yr/100K mile warranty....
... then I gotta wonder why anyone would pour in snake oils, much less pay good money for the warranty cancellation.

When I asked the service dept. mgr. why they sold those products in their parts dept if they aren't approved and aren't specified as required maintenance, his answer was that the parts dept and the service dept are separate and that parts would have to answer that. The parts dept mgr replied that no official claims are made by parts, that any performance claims made are only those of the product itself, further claims or warranty is implied.
Since my previous engine ran 330K with ordinary WalMart oil and cheap filters (until a texting woman driving a Class A Motor Home at 70 mph rear-ended me after I'd stopped to avoid running over a lab puppy in the road), and since the only mx done to that engine other than plugs and oil changes and one water pump, ...I don't believe in snake oil unless it's to lubricate door hinges.
