I'm curious on the 5th wheel in a 1500 model myself - what are you pulling?

the max payload for the 1500 is around 1600lbs (cc) or 1700lbs(std cab). so if I do the 'roughly 20% of 5th wheel weight is payload in bed' you could safely pull a ~8k 5th wheel.

a 25' elkridge is about 7200 lbs, so I guess if you didn't load up much it would work ok - but you'd be pretty close to max payload the whole time. Of course you could get the factory air suspension and auto-level, that would definitely help the ride...

who'da'thunk 1/2 ton trucks would be pulling 5th wheels...
