Question on this one...once removed, I assume it's safe to gently open the TB plate by hand for cleaning? I've read and heard on the ETC's it's not advised to do this manually but to leave it on the vehicle and use a helper to step on the throttle.

Given you said to remove it, I'll assume it's ok since I don't see any other way of getting the job done.
