So when you apply to get hired, do you ask for fire or ems and that's what you get if they have the opening? Or is it where ever they need you? Can you switch? Or once your ems, you're stuck?

Some days I love the ems runs and others I don't because of all the nonsense. But every once in a while we get a good fire. And since we are both, even if I'm on the rescue truck, we go to the fire because we carry all our gear, tools, and even hose packs on the ambulance.
