Yea, in all honesty all the security in the world won't stop someone who's determined's the same with car alarms.

I did just take a look though and the screw that mounts the lock is actually hidden under the bed liner on the tail it actually isn't as easy as just unscrewing that....still might fit a torx bolt in there to be sure....anything to make it a little harder for them has to be a good thing....and I'm pretty sure I don't need the plates...I can't see how they'd make any difference to what is already there.
